Health Care Costs are Unsustainable (new window)

Health-care costs are unsustainable

There is at least one fact in the current health-care debate that we can all agree on: Health care is too expensive, and we need to act now to control its costs. Your article "Many voices, less consensus at health town hall" on Tuesday makes this issue appear more confusing than it really is.

The cost of doing nothing is clear. Health-care spending is projected to climb from 2007's $2.3 trillion to $4.3 trillion a year by 2016. Premiums paid by employers, the source of most Americans' health insurance, are increasing at a faster rate than either inflation or wage growth.
